Farrar, Straus & Giroux, founded in 1946, is famous for its international literary range. Its authors include 21 Nobel prizewinners for literature and numerous winners of the National Book Award. Henry Holt is one of the oldest publishing houses in the United States, founded back in 1866. Macmillan Audio became part of the Holtzbrinck publishing house for popular publishing in the USA in 2001. The publishing group Bedford, Freeman & Worth, a merger of the three highly-regarded college and university publishing houses Bedford/St. Martin’s, W.H.
