The Main-Post group of newspapers – a part of the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group since 1992 – is the most important newspaper publisher in Germany's Mainfranken economic region.
When Richter printworks of Wuerzburg published the Wuerzburger Generalanzeiger in 1883, later to be re-founded in 1945 under the name Main-Post, it laid the foundation for today's media house. Here Main-Post, Schweinfurter Tagblatt, Bote vom Hassgau, Volksblatt and Volkszeitung dailies are published. With average sales of some 145,000 copies, they reach half a million readers in the region. neun7, the seven-days-magazine for mainfranken, mirrors the world of young adults every week. The markt and the mainSonntag are published every Wednesday and Sunday with a total circulation of approximately 580,000. No other regional website is visited more often than mainpost.de. The Main-Post group also offers a wide range of special websites, such as the family portal main-family.de.
Another growth area is the service centre Main-KundenService GmbH. In addition to its own newspapers and advertisers, a wide range of dailies, advertisers and other publications are printed under contract. Main-ZustellService GmbH is the biggest private postal delivery service of the region. Apart from its own publications, the company also delivers mail of the PIN AG.
The Main-Post group employs more than 750 employees.
