HOS evolved from the company ProServ GmbH and now belongs to Saarbrücker Zeitung Verlag und Druckerei GmbH, of which the parent company, Georg von Holtzbrinck GmbH & Co. KG, is a majority stakeholder.
Holtzbrinck Online Services is the service provider for the conception and development, the integration and the operation of internet portals for the Holtzbrinck Group. Furthermore, a number of other publishing houses outside of the group as well as numerous companies belonging to the New Economy belong to their clientele.
